An advanced writing course designed to help students prepare for the writing done in various professional occupations. The class helps the writer vary style and tone for different audiences and utilizes small group discussion and peer editing to improve critical thinking and writing skills. Many of the assignments are related to real-world writing situations such as formal and informal reports, statements of purpose, memos, profiles, rsums, and proposals. For Liberal Studies and English majors, this course satisfies the requirement for an upper-division writing class. (Also offered as COMM 108(W).) Prerequisite: ENGL 1B.
