About this Position
Working with the Director of Advancement, this position is responsible for increasing current and future funding from foundations, corporations, and government agencies through effective prospect research and the development of accurate and persuasive proposals. Also responsible for the recognition, stewardship, and coordination of grant and contract tracking systems and initiatives.
Work with the Provost as well as the Director of Advancement to research new program, project and funding sources.
Conduct prospect research for foundation, corporate, and government support to ensure a pool of short and long-term funding sources.
Develop and process all grant and agency contracts, including writing, reviewing, editing and finalizing proposals.
Secure information regarding required budget data and prepare budget for submission with proposals and contracts, with the oversight of the CFO.
Implement a grant and contract monitoring system to facilitate efficient coordination, tracking and profiling of proposals.
Recommend strategies to Provost to maximize funding efforts and for inclusion in the OIA strategic plan.
Arrange for meetings for Provost and Director of Advancement with foundation officers. Arrange for onsite tours for foundation officers and trustees.
Track statistics relevant to funding success
Provide input for all Advancement materials.
Desired skills, experience, and qualifications include:
BA required, MA preferred in related field. Previous experience with higher education or non-profit fundraising required. Experience working in a deadline driven environment. Team player who can handle multiple assignments simultaneously and track and meet income goals.
