Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee

Our Mission
HNU’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee strives to bring the University community together to build, foster, and institutionalize an environment of diversity, inclusion, and equity. Through ongoing initiatives and outreach events, the committee seeks to strengthen and critically engage multicultural competency throughout the institution. The committee serves as an advocacy resource for faculty, students, staff, and community partners.

Committee Actions
In support of the University's strategic goal to explore and critically engage multicultural competency throughout the institution, the committee will take the following actions:
• Support and promote the University’s stance on anti-racism by signing the HNU Anti-Racism pledge, attending all University Anti-Racism Forums, and encouraging others to engage in these actions.
• Participate in the University assessment tool for DEI and promote this activity with campus colleagues.
• Revise and update, in conjunction with the Marketing Department, the Inclusive Language Guide for University usage.
• Create and share student-led podcasts related to DEI topics at the University.
