To mark the 150th anniversary of the arrival of the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary (SNJM) in Oakland, hundreds of community members gathered at the Cathedral of Christ the Light in Oakland. The celebratory Mass was held on October 6, the feast day of the SNJM's foundress Blessed Marie Rose Durocher. Oakland Bishop Michael Barber, SJ, was the principal celebrant.
The HNU Chamber Singers, directed by János Horváth, performed together with Holy Names High School as part of the celebratory Mass. Watch the opening procession below:
