Professor Anh Thai Nhan, PhD, mathematics faculty in the School of Business and Applied Social Sciences at Holy Names University recently co-authored three publications, one in the field of education and two in mathematics.
His article, “Different grouping strategies for cooperative learning in English majored seniors and juniors at Can Tho University, Vietnam,” was published by Education Sciences in 2019. The article presented his findings on English majors’ opinions on different grouping strategies and gave insight into group forming method(s) that boost student satisfaction and academic achievements.
In January 2019, the Arabian Journal of Mathematics published Anh Thai Nhan’s article, “A closed-form solution to the inverse problem in interpolation by a Bézier-Spline curve.” The article presents a closed-form solution to the inverse problem in cubic Bézier-spline interpolation.
Anh Thai Nhan’s article, “A note on a generalized Shishkin-type mesh,” was published by Novi Sad Journal of Mathematics in 2018. As the abstract details, “The one-dimensional linear singularly perturbed convection-diffusion problem is discretized using the upwind scheme on a mesh which is a mild generalization of Shishkin-type meshes. The generalized mesh uses the transition point of the Shishkin mesh, but it does not require any structure of its fine and course parts. Convergence uniform in the perturbation parameter is proved by the barrier-function technique, which, because of the unstructured mesh, does not rely on any mesh-generating function. In this way, the technical requirements needed in the existing barrier-function approaches are simplified.”
