To better serve the evolving needs of our students the Bachelor of Arts in Latin American Studies is, now, an undergraduate Concentration in Latin American Latinx Studies
This multidisciplinary Concentration was designed for students interested in the culture, arts, literature, spirituality, history of Latin America and of Latinos/as in the United States. A theme in many classes is the use of the arts as resistance and protest.
These classes are ideal for students who desire a broader perspective on Latinx arts and culture and for those who will pursue careers and graduate studies in fields such as Education, Business, History, Political Science, Human Services, International Relations, and many other areas.
The LALS concentration consists of at least 4 of the classes listed below. The concentration will be listed on your transcript. The advisors will have a curriculum map showing when classes will be offered.
LALS classes fulfill GE requirements in in Literature and Philosophy (LALS 128: A,B,C,D) and in Fine and Performing Arts (LALS 115).
Any LALS class may be taken as an elective.
