HNU Alumni Awards

Please submit your nomination using the form below. Note the following nomination guidelines: 

• Successful nominations provide a detailed illustration, with examples, of the candidate’s achievements and/or character. Please include as much information as possible, and avoid leaving form fields blank. A committee member will contact you if more information is needed to support your nomination. 

• Previous recipients are not eligible to receive the same award again. 

• Excluding the Outstanding Faculty Award, nominees in all categories must be degreed alumni of College of the Holy Names, Holy Names College, or Holy Names University.
   
• Self-nominations will not be considered.

Outstanding Faculty Award 

Presented to a current or retired full-time faculty member who demonstrates professional excellence and an outstanding personal commitment to supporting HNU students. Candidates are accessible outside the classroom; display a daily commitment to the SNJM educational goals; and are mentors who inspire students to create positive change in their communities. Candidates must have served on HNU’s full-time faculty for at least four (4) years.  

Alumni of the Year Award (previously the Alumni Recognition Award) 

Presented to alumni who have made outstanding contributions to our world through their professional achievements, community service, or civic engagement. Successful candidates display an enduring commitment to the mission, values, and work of Holy Names University. 

HNU Service Award 

Presented to alumni whose outstanding service to HNU exemplifies the spirit and dedication of a Holy Names graduate. Candidates engage intentionally, productively, and frequently with HNU students, staff, and fellow alumni; give generously of their time and talents to advance the University’s mission; have had a significant positive impact on the life of the University; and, if HNU employees, have made outstanding contributions above and beyond their daily scope of work. 

Distinguished Young Alumni Award (previously the Young Alumni Award)

Recognizes the outstanding professional and/or personal achievements of an HNU graduate who is under 40 years old*. Candidates demonstrate outstanding achievement in their professional field and/or have made significant, meaningful contributions to their community.  

*Individuals turning 40 prior to the Alumni Awards ceremony will be considered for this award if they were under 40 at the time of nomination.
