Welcome!

As soon as you are admitted, HNU's Articulation Officer will begin your transcript evaluation. This process is typically completed within one week of your acceptance. You will be emailed an evaluation showing which courses have transferred into HNU and how many more credits you will need to complete for your bachelor's degree.

These typically take 2 working days to complete so we can share a clear picture of any assessments you may need and where your former credits fall for your degree completion.

Be sure to watch your mail and email for more details. See you soon!

Next Steps

Submit your Financial Aid Application

Submitting either your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) or California Dream Act Application helps us determine your eligibility for grants, scholarships, and additional financial aid. We can’t issue a financial aid award letter until you file your application, so get it in as soon as you can!

Submit your Official* Transcripts

If you haven’t already, have official transcripts from ALL colleges and universities you attended sent
directly from the institution to:

Holy Names University
Office of Undergraduate Admission
3500 Mountain Boulevard
Oakland, CA 94619

or via email:

admissions@hnu.edu

You may want to request your transcripts through Parchment, Inc., a credential request company that can assist you in sending electronic transcripts and other credentials directly to Holy Names University from other colleges and universities.

If a name is requested you can list your enrollment counselor.

*The transcript must be signed and sealed in an envelope from the institution

Check your email for your HNU Login Credentials

You will receive all of your student login credentials in the email you listed on your application for admission within two working days after you are admitted. Please let your enrollment counselor know if you are not able to locate it.

Submit your Enrollment Deposit

You will need your student ID to submit your $100 enrollment deposit. Your ID is created when you receive your login credentials. Submit your enrollment deposit through your Holy Names application portal to secure your spot at HNU.

Sign your Financial Agreement

Please log into your Student Applicant Portal (https://admissions.hnu.edu/apply/) to access your Financial Agreement. The link to the Financial Agreement is located in your Enrollment Checklist. Please be sure to take note of your Student ID number to complete the form.

Check your transcript evaluation to see if you are required to take the ALEKS mathematics placement assessment. Results will help you and your academic advisor determine your math preparedness and choose the most appropriate courses for you.

Sign up for your English assessment (if applicable).

Check your transcript evaluation to see if you are required to take the English assessment. If it is required for you, please follow the instructions and submit a short essay through our English assessment Canvas page..

Meet with an academic advisor

All incoming students must meet with an academic advisor. Once any required assessments are complete, you may schedule your appointment (to be held in-person or over the phone), visit https://hnuadvising.as.me.

Register for Classes

Once all of the previous steps are complete, please allow 1-2 working days to access registration. Log in to Hawk’s Edge to register for classes recommended to you by your academic advisor. This guide can help.
