Internship preparation focusing on the pragmatics of psychotherapy: assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning/ implementation and evaluation. Emphasis is on basic MFT principles of relational/systemic/collaborative/recoveryoriented approaches using evidence-based practices. Course will stress case management/client advocacy and use of community resources. Focus on therapist/client relationship and client diversity issues including family variations, socio-economics, human sexuality, severe mental illness, co-occurring disorders including AOD, issues of child/ elder abuse/ domestic violence and disaster /trauma. Law and ethics will be reviewed. This course includes the Application for Readiness to Practice.
