Kimberly Mayfield EdD

Dr. Kimberly Mayfield earned all of her degrees (including her Special Education Credential and EdD) while teaching Special Education classes in the Oakland School District. She joined the Education Department at Holy Names University as a full time professor in Special Education in 2001 and in 2008 she became the first African American professor to receive the status of tenure. Dr. Mayfield sees HNU as a place where students learn their passion and teachers practice compassion.
