Laura Dueñas

Laura earned her undergraduate degree from CSU East Bay in Sociology and her master’s degree in Mexican American Studies (Chicana/o Studies) from San Jose State University. She is currently enrolled in the Single Subject credential program at HNU, since she aspires to become a ESL/ELD high school teacher. Laura is passionate about education since she loves supporting students in discovering their areas of strength … PLUS, “The more you know, the more you realize how much you don’t know.” Laura was once a student herself and understands the challenges and struggles students face while pursuing their goal of earning a college degree.

Laura was born and raised in the Bay Area making her a diehard 49ers fan! On “Laura” time she enjoys shopping, trying new dishes, eating sushi and traveling! Her hobbies include: buying new lipsticks, shoes, and perfumes, cooking, hiking and watching football and soccer games.
