Richard Sprott PhD

As a researcher and teacher, I focus on the ways in which stigma, prejudice, minority dynamics, language, identity development and community development all intersect and affect each other, with a concern about impacts on health and psychological well-being. I have worked with migrant farmworker families, preschool children, educational administrators, medical doctors, chaplains, teachers, counselors, therapists, people in emerging professions, and sexual minority communities. I have served as the Field Placement Administrator for the Counseling and Forensic Psychology Programs at HNU for over 6 years, and periodically teach courses.
