Though not an academic major, the Integrative Studies Across Cultures program is an essential component of the Liberal Arts education at HNU. It affirms the institution’s mission by sustaining the commitment to the full development of each student, preparing them for an active role in a diverse world.
The “ISAC” program has a long established and well-deserved reputation as a model for interdisciplinary studies. It is the heart of the general education classes at HNU and as such it is commonly referred to as “Core”. This unique program consists of four courses in chronological sequence and a culminating colloquium. The chronological courses form the cornerstones of the general education requirement, while the Senior Colloquium is a capstone course.
