In accordance with the CDC recommendation to cancel large group gatherings during this time, Holy Names University has postponed this event until further notice.

The Office of the President invites members of the Holy Names University community to attend a day of events in celebration of the inauguration of Michael Groener as HNU’s 17th President.

10:30 a.m. Mass and Inauguration Ceremony in the McLean Chapel
This event symbolically formalizes Groener’s appointment as the 17th President of Holy Names University.

12:00 noon Lunch in the Public Market
This special meal is courtesy of Epicurean and the President’s Office. President Groener will share remarks about the growth and direction of our University.

1:30 p.m. HNU’s Social Justice Forum
Immediately following the luncheon will be Holy Names University’s annual Social Justice Forum. In keeping with the Core Values of our Foundresses, the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary, the mission of our University emphasizes our dedication to justice, our commitment to liberating action, and service to marginalized populations. This year’s Forum will include keynote speakers from the Oakland community, a panel discussion of equity in higher education, and a session highlighting how social justice will be emphasized in our institution’s Academic Strategic Plan.
