Re-Welcome Sonia Robles! We are delighted to announce the latest addition to the Cushing Library team, our Librarian for Research and Access Services, Sonia Robles! Sonia began her new position in January 2017, but since some of you may not have heard the great news, we want to make sure we spread it far and wide!
Many of you may already know Sonia. She served as our Visiting Librarian from October 2015 until December 2016, providing walk-up research help on evenings and Saturdays. In her new role as Librarian for Research and Access Services, Sonia continues to provide walk-up research help on weekday afternoons and evenings. Sonia also plays a key role in cataloging Library materials and managing the library's interlibrary loan services and electronic resources (databases, ejournals, etc.).
Sonia earned two B.A.’s from San Francisco State University in Latino/a Studies & International Relations, and received her Masters in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois. Sonia's interests in the field of librarianship include reference services, access & equity, and reading on the latest trends in librarianship. In her spare time, Sonia enjoys keeping her Spanish skills on point, fighting off hungry bugs in her garden and playing with her family and crazy border collie at Cesar Chavez Park.
Stop on by and re-welcome Sonia to HNU in her new role!
