Hawks Give Together Again: Second-Annual Day of Giving a Success
The HNU community showcased its collective strength April 7-8 during Hawks Give Together, the University’s second annual day of giving. Together, 336 donors contributed over $78,000 supporting HNU students and programs.
To each one of you: thank you so much.
Far exceeding our 250-donor goal, participants included alumni, friends, and family in five countries (U.S., Great Britain, Australia, Argentina, and Japan), along with faculty, staff, and students. HNU Athletics led the day with over 30% of the donor total. While alumni, families, and friends contributed online, the campus community filled Tobin Gym for Power Hour, where more than 250 students, athletes, faculty, and staff unlocked funds by completing various physical challenges (cost to participate: text the giving link to five friends!). Additional highlights included a strong showing by friends of the Applied Sport and Performance Psychology program; the HNU Kodaly Center; and Campus Ministry, along with a generous lead gift by the President’s Cabinet, challenge gifts from a group of current and former HNU trustees, and another from alums Ana Raphael-Scott ’89 and Terry Scott ’87.
Throughout the day, whether they gave $1.00 or $10,000, every contributor shared something in common: extraordinary love and gratitude for Holy Names. Said Anne Dunlap-Kahren ’88 and Mark Kahren ’88, “[We’re] grateful every day for the benefits of a Holy Names education!” Added Naomi Matsuda Levenson ’68, “It is exciting to see how vibrant and energized Holy Names is. Makes me proud to be an alum.”
