Hawks Give Together was a huge success!
We are thrilled to report that Hawks Give Together, HNU’s inaugural day of giving, was a huge success! We surpassed our goal of 250 donors, and proved that we are, truly, stronger together.
To all who made this possible: thank you.
In just over 24 hours, 269 donors said ‘yes’ to supporting HNU students and programs. Gifts ranging from $1.00 to over $5,000 flowed in from around the country, from alumni, current students, faculty, staff, families, and friends of the University. Several generous partners—Eileen Brosnan Weston ’62, Judy Wainwright ’65 and Jim Mitchell, Soraya Dawson Wright ’86, and the HNU Board of Trustees—offered challenge gifts that were “unlocked” when a specific donor count was achieved.
Other highlights included:
- The success of the Black Student Union, who secured a $2,500 matching gift and raised over $5,000 for their BSU C.O.L.O.R. Grants, to support students experiencing financial hardship
- An outstanding social media campaign by HNU Athletics staff and students
- 100% participation by the Board of Trustees and the President’s Cabinet
- Over $102K raised for all areas of the University
Throughout the two-day event, it was love and gratitude for the HNU experience that motivated participants to give back. Said Ana Raphael-Scott ’89, “Holy Names University unconditionally loved me and my friends. This institution helped me become the best of who I am.”
