Holy Names University and Life Chiropractic College West announce bachelor’s degree completion partnership
(Oakland, CA – February 3, 2021) — Holy Names University (HNU) is offering a new bachelor’s degree completion path for students pursuing advanced chiropractic degrees at Life Chiropractic College West (Life West). Students of Life West who have yet to complete their bachelor’s degree may do so at HNU, with a degree in Kinesiology, Interdisciplinary Studies, or a Self-Designed major.
The two institutions, both located in the East Bay, share a deep commitment to access and to preparing service-minded graduates.
Says Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences at Holy Names University, Kim Bowers, “Chiropractors who obtain their undergraduate degree from Holy Names will enter the work force prepared to offer equitable care to a diverse group of clients. This partnership is a win for both universities and future chiropractic patients throughout the Bay Area.”
In February of 2020, Holy Names University and Life Chiropractic College West signed a partnership agreement that supports the training of highly skilled chiropractic doctors while reducing their time to degree by one year (see press release). This partnership provides students with the opportunity to earn both a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a Doctor of Chiropractic degree in a total of six years.
Qualified Kinesiology students at Holy Names University may enter the Life West Doctor of Chiropractic degree program after the completion of their third year of study at HNU. While admission to Life West is not guaranteed, HNU students who apply by the early-decision deadline will receive priority-applicant status, which means their applications will be reviewed as soon as possible by the Life West admissions department and they will be granted an interview by their admissions panel.
